Disengineering Society Hardware Hacking and Musical Instrument Building Workshop

Disengineering Society is a hardware hacking collective that organizes workshops teaching musical instrument building using electronic waste. Think old vapes turned into working microphones. Children's toys that screech and scream in ungodly ranges. Beautiful cascading synthesizers made out of old hard drives. And an ethos of combatting planned obsolescence at the forefront of it all. Our educational aim is engineering forward, and our ideological aim is to challenge our apathetic relationships to technological consumption through hands-on workshops. Making weird, awesome instruments happens to be the wonderful by-product of this pursuit.
